Vanguard Completes Acquisition of Two Resurrection Hospitals

Vanguard Health Systems has completed the acquisition of two Resurrection Health Care hospitals — West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park, Ill., and West Lake Hospital in Melrose Park, Ill., according to a Nashville Business Journal report.

Vangauard paid approximately $45 million for the facilities, according to the report. Illinois regulators approved the sale in June.

The hospitals lost an average of $247.5 million annually between 2007 and 2009, according to the report.
