UHS would receive a $500,000 fee for the first year of the arrangement and a bonus that could reach that amount under the arrangement. Fees for subsequent years could increase or decrease based upon the amount of savings from UHS management, according to the report.

The proposed agreement is for five years and can be renewed.

The Pasquotank County Board of Commissioners — which has local control of Albemarle — will decide whether to accept the agreement.
