Franciscan Skemp will close the facility’s maternity, emergency and in-patient care wards, which serve about 7,000 people in the surrounding area and make up the only around-the-clock healthcare facility in Arcadia.

A lack of patients and flat population growth led to the decision to close the hospital’s three wards, according to the report. However, the nursing home and clinic in the facility will remain open.
