St. Joseph Regional to acquire Catalyst Medical Group: 5 things to know

St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston, Idaho, plans to acquire Catalyst Medical Group, a physician-owned, multi-specialty medical clinic also based in Lewiston, according to a Sept. 23 news release from the companies. 

Five things to know about the plans:

1. The deal includes CMG’s Lewiston Orthopedics and Valley Medical Center.

2. The transition is expected to be completed in late 2025.

3. Once the transaction is completed, CMG’s approximately 150 employees will join the St. Joseph team, bringing St. Joseph’s total employee count to about 850 people, St. Joseph CEO Ed Freysinger said, according to the Moscow-Pullman Daily News.

4. Both entities said the addition of CMG to St. Joseph’s network will expand the medical center’s cancer, maternity, heart and vascular, neurology, wound, orthopedic, primary care and pediatric services.

5. Details about the cost of the purchase were not disclosed. St. Joseph, part of Louisville, Ky.-based ScionHealth, said the acquisition is being funded through a community investment fund, according to the Daily News.
