St. Bernard Parish Hospital cost $70 million to construct and began seeing patients in September.
The hospital board must now search for a new organization to oversee the daily operations of the facility. However, according to the report, the board may not hire an outside manager and instead hire a CEO to report directly to the board.
The current CEO, Tim Burke, who is employed by Franciscan Missionaries, will remain in the position until the end of Franciscan’s transition out of operating St. Bernard Parish, according to the report.
