The boards of both health systems and a North Dakota Attorney General voted to approve the merger. According to the release, Medcenter One and Sanford Health leaders will make a formal announcement July 12.
Under the terms of the merger, Medcenter One will operate under a Sanford Health name — Sanford Medical Center Bismarck. Current executive leaders of Medcenter One will remain in their positions. According to the release, the integration of the two health systems will take place over the next year.
