The two were in talks to create a vertically integrated healthcare delivery system for nearly 18 months, according to the report.
In May, both facilities signed a memorandum of understanding and began the process of evaluating various aspects of a proposed affiliation, including potential financial models.
Officials from both organizations determined that the groups would not “be able to find a sustainable financial model acceptable to both parties,” according to the report.
The organizations will continue to discuss alternative cooperation options, according to the report.
