Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare completed its acquisition of The College of Health Care Professions on Sept. 15.
HCA shared plans to acquire the college in late May.
CHCP serves more than 8,000 students at 10 campuses across Texas and online programs. It offers more than 20 accredited healthcare programs to prepare students for careers across multiple allied health disciplines, according to a news release from the system.
The college has prepared more than 52,000 students for careers in healthcare since it was founded in 1988.
HCA’s acquisition of CHCP comes after decades of collaboration between the two parties through clinical sites, career placement and program advisory boards. Under HCA, the college will continue its focus on academic quality, workforce readiness and student success, all while preserving its mission, programs and adult learning focus, the release said.

The acquisition comes as HCA continues to expand its education pipeline. The system also supports nursing education and development through Galen College of Nursing, Research College of Nursing and Mercy School of Nursing. It is also a leader and sponsor of the Graduate Medical Education, with more than 365 programs across 87 hospitals.
