Little Company of Mary Hospital is owned and operated by Evergreen Park-based Little Company of Mary Hospital and Health Care Centers. LCMH’s board of directors approved the letter of intent Oct. 3, while the Rush health system board approved the proposed agreement Sept. 28.
Under the letter of intent, LCMH will remain a Catholic hospital.
The proposed agreement is subject to further due diligence. Officials expect to reach a definitive agreement within the next several months.
If approved, LCMH would become the fourth Illinois hospital in the Rush system, which includes Chicago-based Rush University Medical Center, Rush Oak Park Hospital and Aurora-based Rush Copley Medical Center.
