Prospect completes $400M purchase of 6 Pennsylvania, New Jersey hospitals

Los Angeles-based Prospect Medical Holdings has finalized the acquisition of six healthcare facilities in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, totaling nearly $400 million, according to the Journal Inquirer.

According to court documents, Prospect purchased one hospital in New Jersey, four in Philadelphia suburbs and one in downstate Pennsylvania. The transaction was reportedly completed over the summer.

Prospect officials said they plan to spend an additional $200 million on the purchase of healthcare institutions in Connecticut. The health system is in the process of acquiring Manchester (Conn.) Hospital and finalized the purchase of Waterbury (Conn.) Hospital in August.
