Project Linus partners with University of Maryland Shore Regional Health, donates blankets for critically ill children

Members of Project Linus, a nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting critically ill children, donated handmade blankets to the University of Maryland Regional Health Shore’s emergency center in Queenstown, Md., and the health system’s medical center campus in Chestertown, Md., according to The Star Democrat.

The blankets will be used to comfort younger patients who come to the facility under harsh circumstances, according to the article. Officials did not release the number of blankets it received from the organization.

“We are gracious for the hard work and effort [Project Linus volunteers put] into helping out the community,” said Mary Vanhoy, manager of UM Regional Health Shore emergency center and medical center. “We have many frightened children come through our emergency departments after unfortunate circumstances, and these blankets offer a sense of comfort when they really need it.”
