The agreement was effective Jan. 1.
Under the terms of the agreement, Pekin Hospital will be rebranded as UnityPoint Health – Pekin. The two other institutions also owned by Pekin Hospital’s parent company Progressive Health System ─ ProHealth Medical Group in Skokie, Ill., and ProCare Medical Group in Pekin, Ill. ─ will also become a part of UnityPoint Health, but will retain their original branding.
President and CEO of UnityPoint Health – Peoria Debbie Simon will serve as president and CEO of the new venture.
Progressive Health System and UnityPoint – Peoria began discussing a potential affiliation agreement in August 2016.
