Worcester, Mass.-based UMass Memorial Medical Center will be the first academic medical center to join the Boston-based Dana-Farber Cancer Care Collaborative, according to MassLive.
The organizations notified the state health policy commission of the agreement Monday.
The collaboration will focus on adult oncology services and allow physicians from both institutions the opportunity to consult with one another and potentially expand patient participation in clinical trials at both hospitals, according to the article.
"We are proud to be the newest member of the well-regarded and nationally recognized Dana-Farber Cancer Care Collaborative," said Eric Dickson, MD, CEO of UMass Memorial Health Care. "This relationship builds on our long relationship with Dana-Farber for rare cancers."
