Terre Haute, Ind.-based Union Health has submitted a new Certificate of Public Advantage application to acquire Terre Haute Regional Hospital, a 278-bed facility operated by Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare. 

Warner Robbins and Perry, Ga.-based Houston Healthcare's bid to join Emory Healthcare was approved by both boards, according to a Feb. 10 news release.

Clearwater, Fla.-based BayCare, a 16-hospital system, has purchased a 36-acre office parcel by its St. Joseph's hospitals' campus in Tampa to provide room for growth.

On Feb. 1, Nashville, Tenn.-based Vanderbilt University Medical Center acquired a cardiology practice from a subsidiary of Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems.

Three new health systems have launched under new brands this year after clearing their respective regulatory hurdles and closing conditions.

Gulfport, Miss.-based Memorial Health System completed its acquisition of Merit Health Biloxi (Miss.) from Community Health Systems on Jan. 31. 

Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare purchase of Manchester, N.H.-based Catholic Medical Center is complete.

Los Angeles-based Prospect Medical Holdings has shared plans to sell Upland, Pa.-based Crozer Health, including all hospitals, clinics, physician offices and ambulatory surgery centers to a non-profit group of healthcare operators. 

Sam Hazen, CEO of Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare, said that the system's capacity growth in 2025 is primarily going to be through what he called "organic measures."
