Little Rock-based The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and Bradley County Medical Center in Warren, Ark., are planning to sign a management consulting and co-branding agreement.
Five things to know:
1. The agreement was approved Sept. 24 by the BCMC board of directors, according to a Sept. 25 UAMS news release.
2. BCMC will retain its assets, operations and oversight of the hospital, including full operational authority. No changes to patient services, hospital staff or daily operations will result from the agreement.
3. UAMS will provide advisory management services across key operational areas and assist the hospital in identifying opportunities to improve daily operations.
4. BCMC, a 33-bed critical access hospital, is a participating hospital in UAMS’ stroke program, which provides telehealth consults with the academic health system’s neurologists. The hospital has 25 acute care beds and an eight-bed senior care unit.
5. UAMS has announced several partnerships with Arkansas hospitals in 2026, including co-management agreements with Helena Hospital and Mena Regional Health System, as well as a strategic partnership with Jefferson Regional Medical Center in Pine Bluff.
