Tampa, Fla.-based Tampa General Hospital will welcome patients to its new location, TGH DeSoto in Arcadia, Fla., on Oct. 1, according to a news release shared with Becker’s.
In early November 2025, Tampa General shared plans to take over the 49-bed facility, formerly known as DeSoto Memorial Hospital.
The DeSoto County Hospital District board selected Tampa General to take over DeSoto Memorial, assuming management of the facility, operations, providers and team members.
Tampa General committed to investing at least $45 million in the rural facility. The 49-year lease is $10 per year and includes a purchase option.
TGH DeSoto serves a local population of nearly 34,000, according to its LinkedIn page.
