Under the agreement, SCA and SBHCS will jointly acquire ownership in physician-owned ambulatory surgery centers in northern and central New Jersey. SCA will provide day-to-day management services of these ASCs.

“We are honored to be selected to enter into this relationship with the Saint Barnabas Health Care System,” said Andrew Hayek, president and CEO of SCA, in a news release. “The strength of our clinical programs was a critical factor in this decision. We believe this relationship will improve healthcare in New Jersey, and further position SCA as the partner of choice for health systems and physicians.”

Barry Ostrowsky, president and COO of the Saint Barnabas Health Care System, said, in the news release, “We look forward to building an exceptional network of surgery centers in New Jersey. Combining SCA’s operational platform and the strength of our system will present a compelling opportunity for our physicians, patients and payors.”
