New Jersey’s Atlantic Health System Renames Three Hospitals

Morristown, N.J.-based Atlantic Health System’s three hospitals have changed their names to reflect the system’s breadth of services across multiple campuses, according to an Atlantic Health System news release.

Newton (N.J.) Memorial Hospital, which recently joined Atlantic Health System, will now be known as Newton Medical Center. Morristown (N.J.) Memorial Hospital will be Morristown Medical Center and Overlook Hospital in Summit, N.J., will be Overlook Medical Center.

According to the release, Atlantic Health System President and CEO Joseph A. Trunfio said, “Atlantic Health System’s single-entity hospitals have flourished into medical centers, providing our communities with access to a spectrum of unmatched specialty care at multiple facilities. Through this evolution, each medical center has not only expanded its services, but also has enhanced its culture of healing with patient-centered care at its core.”
