Hospital officials plan to begin moving equipment and patients from Washington County into Meritus on Dec. 11.  Anyone seeking treatment at Washington County Hospital on that date will be assessed and stabilized, but medical operations at the facility will cease later that day, according to the report.

It is likely that the Washington County facility will be demolished after the transition.
