Local Leaders Propose Merger Between California’s San Leandro and St. Rose Hospitals

Local leaders have proposed to merge the administration at San Leandro (Calif.) Hospital with St. Rose Hospital in Hayward, Calif., according to a San Leandro Patch report.

Sacramento, Calif.-based Sutter Health, which operates San Leandro Hospital, plans to close the hospital’s emergency room and lease the hospital as a rehab center to Alameda County Medical Center in Oakland, Calif.

Under the local leaders’ proposal, the Eden Township Healthcare District would continue ownership of San Leandro Hospital and add St. Rose.
