Cancer patients who seek care at Lifespan will continue to receive treatment at its Rhode Island facilities, but those with “more rare and complex cancers will benefit from seamless referrals and coordination of care with Dana-Farber,” Timothy Babineau, president and CEO of Lifespan, told the Providence Journal.

The partners will also create a program to coordinate treatment for Lifespan patients undergoing bone marrow transplants at Dana-Farber in Boston so they can receive pre- and post-operative treatment at Lifespan’s Rhode Island Hospital in Providence.
