LabCorp to acquire, provide services at Mount Sinai Health System laboratories

Burlington, N.C.-based Laboratory Corporation of America Holdings and New York City-based Mount Sinai Health System entered into a definitive agreement to allow LabCorp to acquire and provide services at the health system’s clinical outreach laboratories.

Under the agreement, LabCorp will offer clinical pathology testing, including cytology and cytology-related molecular testing, at Mount Sinai clinical outreach laboratories. Through the deal, LabCorp will also acquire seven of Mount Sinai’s patient service centers.

The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2017. The financial terms of the agreement have not yet been disclosed.
