Smithfield, N.C.-based Johnston Health is considering a new management model that may include replacing its current operator, creating a joint venture or selling the system, according to a News Observer report.

The board of the county-owned hospital system had already mailed requests for information to “no more than 10” healthcare firms, according to the report.

Johnston Health has been managed by Quorum Health Resources for the past 25 years. Proposals are expected to be reviewed in the next month with the system nearing an affiliation model by the end of December, according to the report.
