Harrison County Hospital in Corydon, Ind., plans to affiliate with Evansville, Ind.-based Deaconess Health System, effective Jan. 1.

The affiliation will bring expanded resources and stronger support for patients while allowing the hospital to remain locally owned and led, according to a Dec. 1 news release from Harrison County Hospital.

It is Deaconess’ sixth affiliation of this kind with independently governed regional hospitals, a health system spokesperson said in a Dec. 4 statement shared with Becker’s.

“This affiliation allows Harrison County Hospital to remain a locally governed, county-owned hospital while gaining access to the clinical expertise, technology and resources of a larger health system,” the spokesperson said.
