Scottsdale, Ariz.-based HonorHealth has signed an agreement to acquire Evernorth Care Group, a subsidiary of The Cigna Group.
Evernorth Care Group operates 18 clinics in the greater Phoenix area and provides integrated primary care services to nearly 80,000 patients.
“Evernorth Care Group has a 50-year history as a trusted leader in integrated care, delivering high-quality and affordable care to generations of families in the Phoenix area,” HonorHealth CEO Todd LaPorte said in a Sept. 2 news release shared with Becker’s. “With nearly 100 years of healthcare expertise in Arizona, HonorHealth is proud to welcome these dedicated caregivers into the family. This acquisition enhances the services we offer and expands Valley residents’ access to care.”
The clinics will join HonorHealth upon close of the transaction, which is expected to occur in January, pending legal and regulatory approvals.
Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
