HMA Plans 395 Layoffs

Naples, Fla.-based Health Management Associates informed the state it plans to lay off 395 employees by April 4, according to a News-Press report.

The layoffs notice was filed just a day after Franklin, Tenn.-based Community Health Systems completed its acquisition of Health Management. CHS now has 25 hospitals in Florida, according to the report.

There were no specifics available as to which hospitals or employees would be affected by the layoffs, according to the News-Press report.
