Florida’s Health Central Considers Four Systems for Possible Partnership

Ocoee, Fla.-based Health Central, the only remaining independent hospital in the Orlando area, is considering partnership proposals from four health systems, according to a Health Central news release.

The hospital board will hear presentations from Adventist Healthcare System’s Florida Hospital, Orlando Healthcare, Hospital Corporation of America and Health Management Associates on Nov. 2. There is no set deadline for a decision.

The hospital board is considering a merger to expand programs, improve economies of scale and efficiency and ensure a stronger negotiating position for contracts and services, according to the release.
