Colorado hospital secures partner to continue dentistry services

Through a new partnership with Steamboat Springs-based Northwest Colorado Health, South Routt Medical Center will be able to continue providing dental care to local residents, according to the Craig Press.

The Oak Creek, Colo.-based medical center, which has been providing dental services to the community on and off since adding a dental suite in 2014, is the only dental provider for Medicaid patients in Routt County. Sustaining that care can be financially challenging for an independent hospital, Northwest Colorado Health CEO Stephanie Einfeld told the publication.

“It’s vital to keep [the medical center] alive,” she added.

Through the collaboration, South Routt Medical Center will be able to continue providing dental services and take patients regardless of their ability to pay.

“Dental health is medical health. There really is no difference,” said Ken Rogers, South Routt Medical Center district manager and board president.
