Capella Healthcare Pursues Lease of OCH Regional Medical Center in Mississippi

Franklin, Tenn.-based Capella Healthcare is pursuing a 50-year lease agreement of county-owned OCH Regional Medical Center in Starkville, Miss., according to a Commercial Dispatch report.

Capella Vice President of Acquisitions and Development Doug Johnson confirmed the news to the Dispatch, saying the for-profit Capella made the offer to the county board of supervisors in an April 23 letter. Financial terms of a proposed lease were not disclosed.

OCH Regional Medical Center CEO Richard Hilton told the Dispatch he did not know about the lease proposal until the newspaper contacted him, and he declined to comment further.
