The program is an intensive five-course program designed to funnel a select number of students directly into the hospital’s staff. During the program’s launch this fall, eight students received full scholarships into the program, with their tuition paid entirely by the hospital. Those eight students also received and accepted job offers to continue working at the hospital after completing the program, according to the article.
Since launching the program, CCV officials said the number of students enrolled in the college’s medical assistant associate degree curriculum has also increased.
The program is expected to continue in some form next fall, though officials have yet to work out the details, according to the article.
