Officials said the affiliation agreement will not affect patients’ access to care or their relationship with their individual physician, according to the article.

The financial terms of the agreement, if any, were not disclosed.

“Through this affiliation, Berkshire Orthopaedic Associates will be able to preserve and strengthen the availability of orthopedic services across Berkshire County,” said Kevin Mitts, MD, division chief of orthopedics at Berkshire Medical Center. “In addition, this agreement gives us critical access to a variety of support services, including assistance in recruiting new physicians and other providers to serve our community’s orthopedic needs. In fact, two new orthopedic surgeons will be joining our practice in the coming months.”
