Atlanta’s St. Joseph’s Hospital Seeking Partner After Failed Merger

Atlanta’s St. Joseph’s Hospital is continuing to seek a partner after its merger plans with Piedmont Healthcare in Atlanta dissolved, according to a report by the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

St. Joseph’s CEO Kirk Wilson said in the report that the negotiations failed due primarily to issues of shared control and maintaining St. Joseph’s Catholic mission.

Following the breakdown, St. Joseph’s said it plans to continue its search for a partner to improve efficiencies and expand its market presence, according to the report.
