Here are three things to know about the agreement.
1. As part of the agreement, Allegheny will provide services to Somerset’s emergency room beginning Dec. 1, according to Andy Rush, CEO of Somerset Health Services and COO of Somerset Hospital.
2. Allegheny will provide services to the hospitalists on Jan. 8.
3. Somerset is not the first hospital where Allegheny will manage emergency services. Allegheny also manages emergency departments at Allegheny General Hospital and West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh, Canonsburg (Pa.) Hospital, Saint Vincent Hospital in Erie, Pa., Forbes Hospital in Monroeville, Pa., Allegheny Valley Hospital in Natrona Heights, Pa., the Allegheny Valley Outpatient Center in New Kensington, Pa., Connellsville, Pa.-based Highlands Hospital and Jameson Hospital in New Castle, Pa.
