Seattle-based UW Medicine and Capital Medical Center in Olympia, Wash., entered into a strategic partnership agreement.
2. Health Department Subcommittee Approves Rochester General, Unity Health Merger
The New York Department of Health's Public Health and Health Planning Council granted preliminary approval to a merger agreement between Rochester (N.Y.) General Health System and Unity Health System, also based in Rochester.
3. Carthage Area Hospital to Affiliate With Samaritan Medical Center
Carthage (N.Y.) Area Hospital and Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown, N.Y., announced plans to pursue an affiliation.
4. Alliant Management Services May Take Over Dr. John Warner Hospital
Alliant Management Services, a Louisville, Ky.-based hospital management company, is seeking to take over management of Dr. John Warner Hospital in Clinton, Ill.
5. Real Estate Firm Acquires Cypress Pointe Surgical Hospital for $25M
Carter Validus Mission Critical REIT, a real estate investment trust based in Kansas City, Mo., purchased the Cypress Pointe Surgical Hospital property in Hammond, La., for about $25 million.
6. El Centro Regional Medical Center, Scripps Agreement Could Include Pioneers Memorial
A potential transaction between El Centro (Calif.) Regional Medical Center and San Diego-based Scripps Health might also include Pioneers Memorial Hospital in Brawley, Calif.
7. Long Island College Hospital Receives 9 Partnership Proposals
Long Island College Hospital in Brooklyn, N.Y., received nine takeover offers, four of which would maintain the facility as an acute-care hospital.
8. Beaumont, Oakwood, Botsford Systems Reach Merger Deal
Beaumont Health System in Royal Oak, Mich., Oakwood Healthcare in Dearborn, Mich., and Botsford Health Care in Farmington Hills, Mich., signed a letter of intent to combine their assets, liabilities and operations under one nonprofit system.
