Real Estate Firm Acquires Cypress Pointe Surgical Hospital for $25M

Carter Validus Mission Critical REIT, a real estate investment trust based in Kansas City, Mo., has purchased the Cypress Pointe Surgical Hospital property in Hammond, La., for about $25 million.

Twenty-five physicians own and operate the 30-bed Cypress Pointe, which focuses on more than 10 surgical specialties.

Carter Validus has acquired several other healthcare properties during the past couple of years, including Physicians Specialty Hospital in Fayetteville, Ark., Vibra New Bedford (Mass.) Hospital and Stonegate Surgery Center in Austin, Texas. As of Dec. 31, Carter Validus owned 32 properties, all of which are data centers or healthcare facilities.
