1. Mission Health CEO: HCA to provide up to $100M annually as part of proposed acquisition deal
Asheville, N.C.-based Mission Health CEO Ronald Paulus, MD, said Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare would provide $50 million to $100 million annually to improve area residents' health as part of its proposed acquisition of Mission Health.
2. Adventist Health hospital, UC Davis Medical center partner on pediatric care
Adventist Health Lodi (Calif.) Memorial and Sacramento, Calif.-based UC Davis Health signed a partnership to expand pediatric and neonatal care services at the 190-bed hospital, Adventist Health Lodi announced May 3.
3. Partners HealthCare, 1.2M-member health plan considering merger
Boston-based Partners HealthCare and Wellesley, Mass.-based health insurer Harvard Pilgrim Health Care are negotiating a possible merger behind closed doors.
4. Cabell Huntington completes acquisition of St. Mary's after nearly 4 years
Cabell Huntington (W.Va.) Hospital completed its acquisition of Huntington, W.Va.-based St. Mary's Medical Center May 3 after announcing the deal nearly four years ago.
5. Baptist Health to acquire Hardin Memorial Health for $361M
Baptist Health entered into a $361.4 million asset purchase agreement with Elizabethtown, Ky.-based Hardin Memorial Hospital, the Louisville, Ky.-based health system announced May 1.
6. Tenet completes divestiture of 143-bed St. Louis hospital
Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare completed the sale of St. Louis-based Des Peres Hospital to Chesterfield, Mo.-based St. Luke's Hospital May 1.
