Tennessee's RegionalCare Offers $181.5M for Wyoming Non-Profit Hospital

Nashville, Tenn.-based RegionalCare Hospital Partners has offered $181.5 million to operate Cheyenne (Wyo.) Regional Medical Center, according to a Wyoming Tribune Eagle report.

The for-profit company made an unsolicited offer to the hospital, which is a non-profit run by Laramie County. RegionalCare wants to lease the medical center for 50 years — a strategy CRMC's CEO, John Lucas, MD, compared to buying the hospital since it is so long-term.

CRMC is forming a committee to evaluate the hospital's current market and financial capabilities. RegionalCare's is the first unsolicited offer CRMC has received, but it anticipates more due to the healthcare climate.
