RegionalCare, Essent to Merge Into 7-Hospital System

Brentwood, Tenn.-based RegionalCare Hospital Partners has signed a definitive agreement to merge with Nashville, Tenn.-based Essent Healthcare, according to a RegionalCare news release.

The merger will create a seven-hospital system. RegionalCare owns and operates four hospitals in Alabama, Iowa and Ohio, while Essent owns and operates three hospitals in Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Texas. Terms of the merger, which is slated to close by the fourth quarter of this year pending regulatory review and approval, were not disclosed.

In the merged organization, RegionalCare will retain its employees and keep hospital management teams in place.
