Maywood, Ill.-based Loyola University Health System has confirmed that it will consider a partnership with other Catholic health systems, according to a Chicago Tribune report.
The health system, which operates Loyola University Medical Center, did not disclose the names of the systems it will approach.
Loyola Health president and CEO Paul Whelton, MD, said the system is exploring options "from a position of strength," according to the report.
LUMC is one of five large academic medical centers in the Chicago area.
