Plumas District Hospital announces partnership with Renown Regional Medical Center

Quincy, Calif.-based Plumas District Hospital and Reno, Nev.-based Renown Regional Medical Center are partnering to form a pilot program to aid patients in the transition period after they are discharged from Renown, according to Plumas County News.

Jeff Kepple, MD, CEO of PDH, wants local patients to go to PDH if they need more time to transition from acute care to home after being discharged from Renown, according to the report. As part of the collaboration, Renown will be providing a care coordinator who will monitor patient discharges and determine what follow-up care is required.

PDH is now equipped to care for swing-bed patients — patients who typically need additional care and rehabilitation before being discharged, according to the report. Swing beds will also produce additional revenue for the hospital.
