With roughly 370 physicians and other advanced practitioners, ProHealth is one of Connecticut’s largest independent physician groups. It cares for more than 360,000 patients.

Together, Optum and ProHealth aim to improve quality and efficiency of local healthcare services, while managing the costs of care. To do this, they will focus on improving communication and collaboration among patients, physicians, hospitals and health plans. Optum will support the group with data, analytic and connectivity solutions and population health management expertise.

“Partnering with Optum will further enhance the high-quality care that our physicians and advanced practitioners provide to their patients today,” Jack Reed, CEO of ProHealth Physicians, said in a statement. “Both of our organizations are committed to helping providers continually deliver the best possible care and services and to building healthier communities.”
