ACS names pediatric surgeon president

The American College of Surgeons appointed Henri Ford, MD, as its 2023-2024 president.

Dr. Ford, a pediatric surgeon, is the dean and chief academic officer of the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, according to an Oct. 22 organization news release.

During his term, Dr. Ford said he aims to emphasize quality programs and advocacy efforts, as well as recognize the international ACS chapters, particularly those in low- and middle-income countries.
