South Carolina’s Greenville Hospital Looks to New Billing System to Cut Costs

Greenville (S.C.) Hospital System University Medical Center is hoping a new billing system will help it close a $10 million budget gap, according to a report in The Greenville News.

The hospital has contracted with MedAssets for revenue cycle services including software and consulting to help improve collections, according to the report.

Earlier this month, the hospital announced 50 layoffs and a hiring freeze for another 50 positions due to the budget shortfall.
