Most protesters were arrested for “crowding, obstructing or incommoding” though four were also charged with resisting arrest. The protests were aimed at Republican senators, though it already seems as though GOP efforts to pass any measures to repeal or replace the ACA are stalled indefinitely due to a lack of support among both conservative and moderate Republicans.
Though earlier this week President Trump recommended that Republican legislators leave ACA regulations in place and allow them to fail on their own, he held a meeting Wednesday urging senators to push forward and continue to draft healthcare legislation.
