“We were let down by all of the Democrats and a few Republicans,” Mr. Trump tweeted Tuesday morning. “Most Republicans were loyal, terrific & worked really hard. We will return!”
Mr. Trump played a vocal role in the party leadership’s attempts to unite conservative and moderate Republicans, hosting senators at the White House and publicly calling on Senators to craft a bill “with heart.” Mr. Trump previously tweeted that if the BCRA should fail to pass, Republicans should repeal the ACA and work on replacement legislation later.
