The executives said implementation of a bill requiring transgender individuals to use bathrooms associated with the sex listed on their birth certificate would negatively impact job creation and diversity within the state’s workforce. Company leaders who signed the letter include the CEOs of American Airlines, AT&T, Texas Instruments and Crow Holdings, among others.
“Our companies are competing every day to bring the best and brightest talent to Dallas. To that end, we strongly support diversity and inclusion,” the CEOs wrote in the letter. “This legislation threatens our ability to attract and retain the best talent in Texas, as well as the greatest sporting and cultural attractions in the world.”
The state legislature will reportedly revive the bill during a special session this week, according to the report.
