The employees affected were at an offsite location, a spokesperson from Novant told Becker’s Hospital Review.
Employees from Novant’s Winston-Salem-based Forsyth Medical Center told the Winston-Salem Journal that those affected were senior level nurses, nurse managers and patient diabetes educators that were part of Novant’s call-a-nurse operation.
The affected employees received transition packages that have career support resources. Novant is hopeful the affected employees will find new positions within the health system.
Novant said job cuts were done “to better reflect the needs of one area of business,” according to the Winston-Salem Journal.
Novant manages 14 medical centers, hospitals and emergency rooms in its four-state territory and has 25,000 employees systemwide.
