MUSC awarded Mr. Cosby an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree in 1993. The university’s board of trustees voted May 18 to rescind the honor after a jury convicted Mr. Cosby April 26 of drugging and molesting an employee of Philadelphia-based Temple University.
Before the verdict, 20 colleges across the U.S. revoked Mr. Cosby’s honorary degree over the allegations. Other universities, including Temple University and Baltimore-based Johns Hopkins University, took back their degrees after his conviction.
