The council unveiled a sign for Gary Shorb Avenue in Memphis, Tenn., on Nov. 4, 2016.
Mr. Shorb is leaving Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare on Dec. 31, 2016, after which he will take on the role of executive director at The Urban Child Institute, also in Memphis. He will also continue in an advisory role with Methodist Le Bonheur until April 2017. He served as the health system’s CEO since 2001.
