Mr. Shorb will continue in an advisory role with Methodist Le Bonheur until April 2017. He has served as the health system’s CEO since 2001, prior to which he served as executive vice president. Michael Ugwueke, Methodist’s current president and COO, will take over as CEO once Mr. Jones departs.

Mr. Shorb will begin his new role with The Urban Child Institute on Feb. 1, 2017. He will receive $165,000 per year, with no additional benefits, according to the report.

“I am honored to serve as executive director of The Urban Child Institute. Urban Child’s mission of promoting health and well-being for children and their families is a natural fit with my history of working in healthcare,” Mr. Shorb said, reports the Memphis Business Journal.
